I'am using Animate CC and Mobile Device Packaging (2017) free trial.

Using a Windows computer, I believe I am not using the full read/write computer administration.

and I not see any error message when this is happening. Usin the magic wand and lasso tool also do not fix the problem

I moved your question to be its own topic. The other person was using Flash 8, and that pre-dates MP4.

Could you say more about what you're trying to do?

Did you know, that's exactly how it works? Just do JavaScript coding in the timeline Actions panel. You get code hinting for anything that CreateJS can do. There's also Code Snippets specifically for HTML5 Canvas, to get you started.

Can you describe what you are trying to do, the steps that you're doing, and say which step doesn't work?

Also, if you right-click on Animate in Windows you can select Run as Administrator, just to make sure that's not the problem.

Colin - I thought you had to comment out the js code you put in the timeline?

Maybe i have missed a big update somewhere??

That is how it was with Flash Pro CS6, and using the Toolkit extension. Several versions ago it was integrated, and you don't need the commenting.

Okay What I'm trying to do is create a face that smiling with his mouth open. to do this I am using the pen tool while having the object drawing tool on. Once I finished the drawing I then use the break apart tool so that I am able to color in the parts of the face that I want. I am trying to colored in the mouth of the face specifically only the tongue. Unfortunately when I try to do so it will color in the whole mouth and the rest of the face. I have tried to use the magic tool and the lasso but I get the same results as well as drawing with the object tool off.

Yeah, it's been this way for like... four years now? CreateJS was fully integrated into Flash even before the name change, so Animate has literally always been "all-in-one".

Re: Adobe CC Brush Integration

It's your workflow that is the problem, not the availability of a universal cross platform brush library - which would be essentially impossible given the completely different architecture of the four applications mentioned.

There also can't really be a discussion around unifying the UI for these applications, as they are quite old with a user base resistant to frivolous change. Although it would be helpful, especially for Illustrator which is quite difficult for new users to understand as the tools and ways of working are quite anachronistic.

I'm trying to make an idle clicking game like cookie clicker on adobe animate cc and I have absolutely no experience. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I have created a circle to click and font to change but can't seem to figure it out. I have turned the circle into a symbol and added the code snippet 'mouse click event' under the folder 'event handlers'. I am using actionscript 3.0

I remade your face and can get the whole face colored in if I don't break apart. If I break apart I can fill in each area.

Did you Select All before doing the break apart?

Edit Class Definition is not saving

Hello, I'm taking a class and we're using Animate CC, and I am in need of help. We are supposed to create a new symbol for a timer in a game.

I successfully created it, and am now adding the code. It instructs to right click the timer in the library, go to properties, and click edit class definition.

When I add the code we are supposed to add, I am supposed to save it, so I do that and save the .as file.

To make sure it works, the only code we're supposed to add is a trace code that will say a message in the output menu.

When I run it though, it does not give a message.

So I reopen the code, doing the same thing...properties...edit class definition.

The code is reverted to the previous code and my code is not saved anywhere.

How am I suppose to solve this?

Thank you.

I have no idea what you are doing here, something about your drawing technique is... unique.

I was able to draw your face in about 3 second using the oval tool and the line tool, no breaking apart, no object drawing and could colour it just fine

The code that is in .as files is external. Doing a save of the FLA won't do a save of the .as code. Either remember to do a save after changing the .as code, or you could use the File menu Save All option.

I thought it was odd too to use the pen tool, but in my reconstruction I did use the pen tool.
